Obsession with drama.
Don't worry, I'll speak for you.
More drama, the better.
Watching “Age of Attraction” on Netflix, had me thinking why in the world would these people put their business out there like that. I am not talking about the hired people that are the cast of the show; I am referring to the family and friends. For your mom and dad to show up and meet your new boo that you met on a Netflix show…..now that should be the definition of drama. That dramatic affect of adding the family members to the cast is the icing on the cake. ‘Kuddos’ to your Netflix, you got me hooked. We WAIT for their reaction, we are EAGER to know their opinions, and we ASSUME they low-key, secretly, don’t agree with their buddies’ decisions. The more drama the better.
The body language of the drama-obsessed.
The urge to wear the sweatpants. Making the quick-trip to the QuickTrip. The cleaning and clearing of the glasses smudges. Picking up all of the kids’ toys to make room for the beans bags. Opening up the wine with the new electric wine opener. Creating a slot in your excel sheet to schedule in your TV time. Of course we can’t forget setting up the notifications and reminders on our devices. Lastly, the inner-cheek biting, searching the cast members on instagram, and slightly being distracted on Tik-Tok to surpass the boring parts. Oh yeah, it’s the truth.
Willing to lose ourselves in the distractions.
There is no other place we would rather be. To have drama, distractions, an insight to vulnerable conversations sells us. It most definitely sold me. With the countless of research papers, information, and debates of what the “drama world” does to peoples’ mental health, we DON’T care. The fixation and hang up of people’s downfalls, toxicity, and anxieties charge our obsessed ass. We love it, and we don’t want the obsession to stop. The reasons why don’t even matter, and we refuse to ponder those specific thoughts. Watching the activities and movements in another person’s life is and will forever more be an obsession. We are obsessed with drama. Netflix or in front of us.
